Industrial Designer

Hi, I'm
Richard Seaman

I’m passionate about exploring how design can improve everyday life. My practice focuses on pushing boundaries, questioning assumptions, and approaching problems with curiosity and adaptability. Design, for me, goes beyond creating objects — it’s about shaping experiences that meet people’s needs and fit seamlessly into the world they live in.

I am driven by understanding how people work and the challenges they face in daily life. By observing behaviours and empathising with users, I aim to create solutions that are intuitive, accessible, and meaningful. I view design as a collaborative process, connecting designers, users, and communities to achieve outcomes that have real impact.

My approach is experimental and reflective, emphasising iteration, exploration, and learning. Small discoveries and insights often guide the development of innovative ideas that address both functional and experiential aspects of design.

Design Philosophy

I create human-centred designs that respond to real needs and challenges, crafting experiences that are intuitive, practical, and meaningful. My process is experimental and iterative. Through exploring ideas, testing solutions, and and continual reflection. By challenging assumptions and thinking creatively, I discover innovative solutions that not only solve problems but enhance the way people interact with the world around them.

Imperfect, scrappy, reflective.

Designing through methods in constant growth and development.
